September 13, 2006 - SPD Control Systems Corporation has recently been informed by its patent counsel, that its domestic and international patent application directed to multiple aspects of the electronic control of Suspended Particle Devices, will be published by the US Patent Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization, in March 2007.

 

 

 

 

“Our patent application is very broad in nature directed to everything from the manner of electronically operating SPD Smart Glass in various ways to multi-controller networks and non-traditional applications” says SCSC inventor and founder Jay Moskowitz. This work covers the use of such controllers in the operation of SPD windows in cars, airplanes, trains, boats, and residential / commercial properties as well as other environments.  With this patent application, SCSC is further establishing itself as the leader and vendor of choice in the delivery of SPD controllers for every SPD market.

Jay Moskowitz on the Cooper Union Board of Advisors

September 11, 2006 - Jay Moskowitz, SCSC Founder and a graduate of the Manhattan engineering college Cooper Union (Physics ’70), has been invited to become a member of the Cooper Union's Advisory Council. They define this as “… a distinguished group of individuals whose insights and input on major issues are very helpful to the school in planning curricula and programs. Some of the 22 members are Cooper alumni, but most are not. They are leading professionals in various fields in engineering, business, science, and law whose experience and opinions we respect.” 

The advisors deal with broad issues such as entrepreneurship, leadership, ethics, community service, communication skills, and their importance to engineers.  Among the members of the board are two Nobel Laureates, the CEO of the Electric Company for New York City, leaders in the energy conservation field, and builders of Green Office Buildings. Participation in this group will also provide our company the ability to educate this group of the existence of SPD products.
